Full Description
Offered here is an original 1937 “Schatzanweisung des Deutschen Reichs” treasury bond certificate for 1,000 Reichsmarks, issued by the Reich Debt Administration in Berlin.
This striking certificate belongs to the “1937 Erste Folge” (“First Issue 1937”) series and carries a 4½% annual interest rate. Printed in an elegant pink and black design with ornate borders and Gothic lettering, the bond is one of the most visually impressive financial documents of pre-war Germany.
Issued on April 14, 1937, this certificate represents a treasury obligation of the German Reich and reflects the complex financial history of Europe during the 1930s. The document states that the bond was redeemable through drawings between 1944 and 1949.
The certificate is numbered and marked with the series letter “D.” This example is offered together with its original attached interest coupons, an important and highly desirable feature for collectors. The bond references the accompanying coupon sheet, which includes the original interest coupons intended for payment over the life of the certificate.
